now you have a boyfriend [06 Dec 2009|08:23pm]
This is a story of boy meets girl. The boy, Tom Hansen of Margate, New Jersey, grew up believing that he'd never truly be happy until the day he met the one. This belief stemmed from early exposure to sad British pop music and a total mis-reading of the movie 'The Graduate'. The girl, Summer Finn of Shinnecock, Michigan, did not share this belief. Since the disintegration of her parent's marriage she'd only love two things. The first was her long dark hair. The second was how easily she could cut it off and feel nothing. Tom meets Summer on January 8th. He knows almost immediately she is who he has been searching for. This is a story of boy meets girl, but you should know upfront, this is not a love story.

this was what u told me u were like

nine words women use [12 Nov 2009|05:15pm]

1. Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut-up.

2. Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half-hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.

3. Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with ‘Nothing’usually end in ‘Fine’.

4. Go Ahead: This is a dare. Not permission. Don’t do it!

5. Loud Sigh: This is actually not a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time and standing here and arguing with you about nothing.

6. That’s Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a woman can make to a man. ‘That’s okay’ means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

7. Thanks: A woman is thanking you. Do not question or faint. Just say you’re welcome.

8. Whatever: Is a woman’s way of saying ‘To hell with you!’

9. Don’t worry about it, I’ve got it: Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a womanhas told a man to do several times, but is now doing it hersef. This will later result in a man asking ‘What’s wrong?’ For a woman’s response, refer to #3.

It’s more than just affection for someone; it’s a deep underlying connection. The comfort of knowing you can tell them everything, and not have worry about being judged. The first person you tell when something exciting happens, or when something scary happens. The person you turn to when you need to vent. The person you can laugh at because they will just laugh back at you. The person you need to tell things to so your brain doesn’t explode. The person who can make you feel better when you’re having a tough day, the one you turn to for advice.. The person you can have full conversations with by merely exchanging glances.

quote frm a friend [19 Aug 2009|09:41pm]
'Someone who loves me enough to try with me.
I want to grow old looking at the same face every morning.
I want to grow old looking at the same face every night at the dinner table.
I want to be one of those old couples you see still holding hands and laughing after fifty years of marriage.
That's what i want. I want to be someone's forever.'

is that what u want ?

Have you ever felt
Like you're being followed?
Or watched the ones that held your stare?
Turned around to see who's behind you
To find there's no one there?

mad rush

im sorry [17 May 2009|05:35am]
QUIT QUIT QUIT. thats all i hear from my mum the past 2-3 days. i'm trying to quit this dirty habit, but the more she nags, the more i wont want to quit, the more i rebel. i think u should know how this things work. i was puffing away downstairs earlier on and i didnt know she'd peeked thru the curtains to see if i was smoking and all. tough luck i guess.

so i came home, reading articles on the internet, my mum came out and gave me a 5mins nagging session on quitting smoking. within the 2nd or 3rd min, i saw her eyes starting to well up with tears. a sense of guilt hitting me hard. i dont want to see my mum cry, again.

i remember telling her i'm aware of what i'm doing just for the sake of saying, but this time i said, 'i know for myself now,' and i meant it. i hate to see my mum disappointed/sad/depressed. theres nth more agonizing than to make your parents feel that way. and nothing more heart wrenching to hear your mum say, 'i'd take my life if i ever have depression again.'

i'm such a failure no?

I don't think a tie is a relic, not yet. It's purely masculine—that one garment that allows you to go a little outside the box. A tie with a well-cut suit makes you look put-together and confident. It's an auto-chic, easy uniform.
